KUALA LUMPUR: Shares of Petronas Gas surged to RM13.48 in early trade on Monday, Aug 30, pushing the key index up more than 16.70 points.

At 9.19am, Petronas Gas was up RM3.08 to RM13.48 with 25,600 shares done. This could have been due to a keying-in error.

The FBM KLCI was up 16.7 points to 1,427.75.

However, the share price at 9.25am, pared its gains and was just up 14 sen to 10.54 with 34,100 shares done.

Fraser and Neave Holdings Bhd, a Malaysian drinks maker, said it will buy a 23.1 per cent stake in Cocoaland Holdings Bhd for RM54.6 million. The company will subscribe for new shares in Cocoaland at RM1.38 apiece, it said in a statement today.

Another sell on news? RM1.38 is way too far from the current price, expect COCOLND to challenge RM2.4 support in coming days.
