Smartag Solutions, John Harith inks deal

Smartag Solutions Bhd today signed a memorandum of collaboration with John Harith Technology Sdn Bhd (John Harith) to allow the latter to use Smartag’s Smartrack software within Brunei for its halal traceability project.

In a filing to Bursa Malaysia today, Smartag said the agreement would be for one-year and may be extended for another 12 months.

Brunei-based John Harith, an information and communications technology solution provider, has been awarded a pilot project to develop a Halal Traceability and Supply Chain Management system for the Ministry of Religious Affairs, Brunei.

Under the project, John Harith will develop the Halal software application on top of Smartrack, thus making Smartrack the engine for the project. — Bernama

Pacts on due diligence on Media Shoppe

The Media Shoppe Bhd (TMS) has signed two separate heads of agreements with Open Adventure Sdn Bhd and Viewnet Computer
System Sdn Bhd.

Under the agreements, TMS will commence due diligence on Open Adventure and Viewnet to verify their background including accounts furnished by them.

“The signing of these agreements is an exciting time for us. “Besides continuing our core business of selling software products, we are diversifying as we see synergistic value with these two companies.

“We are willing to acquire them subject to proper due diligence being carried out,” said chief executive officer Christopher Chan after the signing ceremony here today witnessed by Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Liew Vui Keong.

At the same event, TMS announced a two-for-one renounceable rights issue of up to 318,577,380 new ordinary shares of RM0.10 each.

It is also issuing up to 238,933,035 free detachable warrants on the basis of three Warrants for every four Rights Shares subscribed.

“The rights shares and warrants were listed on the ACE Market of Bursa Securities today,” Chan said. He said the rights issue with warrants was intended to increase the group’s capital base and to expand operations.

“Under the proposal, the group would have the flexibility to expand its operations further, to provide it with a better platform to enhance its application development, system integration and infrastructure solutions in order to remain competitive in the information, communication and technology,” he said. — Bernama

Tambun Indah proposes rights issue, warrants

Property developer, Tambun Indah Land Bhd, is proposing a rights and warrant issue, on the basis of two rights share and one free warrant for every five existing shares held.

In a statement today, the rights issue price has not been fixed, but will be at a minimum indicative issue price of RM0.50 per rights share, potentially raising a minimum of RM44.2 million in proceeds for Tambun Indah.

“The proceeds will primarily be used for working capital requirements to develop the group’s flagship Pearl City and other new projects in Penang,” the company said. — Bernama

DBE Gurney confirms early talks with CI Holdings

In relation thereto and pursuant to paragraph 9.11 of the Main Market Listing Requirements of Bursa Malaysia, the Board of Directors of the Company, after having made due enquiries, wish to confirm that the Company indeed has plans for a private placement to raise funds for its working capital requirements. With regards to the articles on CI Holdings, the Company wishes to clarify that it is currently in discussion with a shareholder of CI Holdings which is at preliminary stage. As such, the pricing for the proposed private placement exercise have not been finalized yet.
